Tēnā koutou creative people!

If you are an experienced mural painter or designer, we have a fantastic and highly visible project for you to sink your teeth into!!!

This is the brainchild of Amy and Hailey, two dedicated nurses from the Southern Blood and Cancer Service at Te Whatu Ora who wanted to create an outlook that fosters an environment of support, care, trust, and community for their cancer patients, visiting whānau, and the general public.

The Cumberland Street overbridge mural will be seen from the rooms where patients receive cancer treatment and will help to create a nurturing, people-centred space. Cancer is described and recognised as a stressful time in one’s life and the organisers wish to do everything in their power to minimise this burden.

The Dunedin Street Art Trust is coordinating the project and Te Whatu Ora will be dealing with scaffolding, site preparation, and traffic management requirements.

Applications are welcomed from artists who have experience with large-scale mural work, including working within strict safety protocols. You'll need a good head for heights!
