Prepare to be captivated by the Nexus art exhibition, a remarkable collaboration between two esteemed artist groups - Art Associates Aotearoa from Waitaha Canterbury and Indigo from Central Otago. This exhibition promises an unprecedented, spontaneous showcase of contemporary art that bridges geographic boundaries.

Uniting Diverse Artistic Expressions.

Nexus brings together 17 talented artists working across a wide range of media, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, and textiles. From December 21, 2024 to January 26, 2025, Central Stories Museum and Art Gallery in Alexandra will host this extraordinary exhibition.

A True Collaborative Curation.

What sets Nexus apart is the collaborative curation process. Members from both Art Associates Aotearoa, and Indigo, will work together in real-time to curate and hang the exhibition, creating an unpredictable and exciting experience. The groups have a shared philosophy around the power of working collaboratively, and this ethos will be central to the Nexus exhibition.

Connecting Creative Communities.

This is the first time Art Associates Aotearoa has exhibited in the Alexandra region, providing a unique opportunity for their work to reach a new audience. Both groups started in 2018 and have built impressive bodies of work, showcasing the diverse perspectives and artistic practices within their respective communities.
