Youth Calendar

We invite young artists (aged 15-18 years) to submit their best artworks. A panel of judges choose the top works to show at a well publicised two-week exhibition, with all profits going directly to the artists. We run a no-cost-to-participate programme by providing upfront financial support to professionally frame the original artworks, as well as funding the reproduction of limited edition prints. 

As part of our mission to encourage continued participation in the arts once these students leave their school environment, we award an annual scholarship to one deserving artist per region, consisting of a $5,000 prize package to help support the growth and development of their artistic career.

In two easy steps you can apply online for the 2027 Artstart Exhibitions:

Step 1.) Answer the Artist Questionnaire on our website. Your answers can either be entered as a written submission by filling out the questionnaire below or you can upload an oral submission (either a video or audio file). It's totally up to you which one you prefer, they will be assessed in the same way.

Step 2.) Upload images of your art. You can either upload photos your entire folio board (preferred) or upload individual images of each artwork.

Applications close on 6 November 2026 at midnight. Results will be emailed the month following your submission.

Note: Students must be no older than 18 at the time the artwork was created. Multiple applications can be submitted during the application period as further artwork is created.
