Melissa is a local artist and community workshop provider with 30 years’ experience as a secondary school visual art teacher. Her mission is to 'spark joy' through art and positivity.

With Melissa’s guidance you'll create folded artist books following simple step by step instructions.  Your artist books will explore surface quality through drawing, masking fluid, ink painting and collage and you'll work with a wide variety of papers.  You will leave with an instruction pack, a collection of works and inspiration for exploring further ideas at home and in Melissa's future workshops.

Main materials for the workshop will be supplied.

Please bring a small natural object to draw, e.g., shell, flower, leaf.

You are also encouraged bring some interesting papers to repurpose into artist books e.g., paintings, drawings, letters, maps.
