  • Central Stories Museum and Art Gallery - "What is Misogyny" by Megan Huffadine

An exhibition of works by Megan Huffadine at Central Stories in the Heaphy Galllery.

What is misogyny?

It is the hatred or prejudice and discrimination against women and girls. It can also refer to social systems and environments where women face hostility and hatred … and I’m fed up with it.

This exhibition has been an opportunity to explore painting approaches in response to an idea.

It is a reply to the vitriol expressed towards women particularly through social media.

Everyone loses through misogyny.

Misogyny sets limits on thinking, behaviour and aspirations across all ages and gender identities.

These works refer to ancient images of goddesses.

These works present gentle/men.
