WEEKEND WORKSHOP WIRE WEAVING WITH JASMINE CLARK

Join Jasmine Clark for a weekend workshop and create a beautiful work of art by learning the techniques of wire weaving.

Jasmine Clark, who now lives in Arrowtown, grew up in Karekare on Auckland’s west coast and was introduced to the world of weaving by her grandmother and mother, who were both rug weavers. She studied sculpture and object design at Unitec Institute of Technology in Auckland and visual arts at Nelson Polytechnic. Over the past twenty years, she has developed various innovative weaving and sculptural techniques inspired by natural forms and processes. Her work utilises a range of natural and recycled materials, including flax, rattan, driftwood, willow, copper wire, pumice and sea bull kelp

Cost per person: $100 for Art Society Members, $130 non members (all materials included).
