Winter Opera in Arrowtown

Following the sell out February Twilight Concert in the Garden this year, ACAS and the Auckland Opera Studio again combine to bring Arrowtown locals a Sunday Night at the Opera.
Starring Internationally renown New Zealand born Mezzo Soprano Bianca Andrew who is a current member of the Operastudio at Opera Frankfurt, where she made her German début in 2018
Bianca has given performances with all the major orchestras in New Zealand in repertoire. She has appeared with the London Symphony Orchestra and with the Cambridge Philharmonic A passionate recitalist, she was the winner of the 2016 Song Prize in the Kathleen Ferrier Awards at London’s Wigmore Hall.
Bianca is a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. Her musical training began at the New Zealand School of Music, and she later joined New Zealand Opera as an Emerging Artist. She receives generous mentorship and support from Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and the Kiri Te Kanawa Foundation.
Bianca is joined by Award winning Soprano Amelia Berry who following completing her studies at the New Zealand School of Music in Wellington completed her Masters at the Manhattan School of Music. Amelia has won the Napier Aria in 2011, the New Zealand Aria in 2010, the Wellington Aria in 2009 and the Otago Daily Times (Dunedin) Aria in 2008. As a winner of an AMP National Scholarship in 2015, her story was chosen to be featured as part of the 2016 Dare to Dream documentary series on TVNZ. She has been supported by the Hunn Trust and the Todd Foundation.
The magic of these voices will be accompanied by David Kelly who is the principal Repetiteur for New Zealand Opera and performs regularly with the Auckland Philarmonic and Auckland Chamber Orchestras and is an accompanist and coach at the New ZealandOpera School. David is also a member of the Donizetti trio and for Chamber Music New Zealand. David trained at the Australian Opera Studio in Perth Western Australia.
