Blue Sky Perspectives – Ranfurly 125th Celebration. An Art Exhibition at the Art Centre, Ranfurly

 “It grabs hold of you, this empty place embraced by mountains and light.”

The austere beauty of the Māniatoto has long inspired creative people; - the perpetual play of light and shadow on the folded mountain ranges, magnificent sky-scapes, and stone buildings spawned like mushrooms from the schisty ground.

With a colour palette of seasonal extremes, 14 local artists share their response to the area they love and tell its stories from their own perspectives using a variety of media. The exhibition opens on Friday night with a ticketed Cocktail and Canape evening, including live music and an Art Deco fashion parade.  Our special guest is an artist who’s love for the Māniatoto has undoubtedly put the region on the map.  This is a wonderful opportunity to mix and mingle with the artists, such as Master Pastelist Julie Greig and award-winning photographer, Janyne Fletcher, among others.

Entry into the exhibition on Saturday and Sunday is FREE.
