SoReal is an art exhibition by Sean Boyd and is a celebration of an artist's imagination. Sean makes ray-guns, steampunk lamps, jetpacks, rockets and life size robots from junk. They look SoReal. They are fantasy made real but not.

Artist statement: I live in Clyde and create predominantly science fiction sculptures from discarded junk. I collect parts from rubbish dumps, recycling centres and landfill. I collect and recycle screws, nuts, bolts, light fittings, sewing machines, plumbing parts and much more. My passions are ray guns, lamps, jetpacks, rockets and life size robots.

I think I am naturally able to tune into my nine-year-old inner self to be able to create these items. I have no rules, no strict genre or boundaries. Everything I create, I create for me, so that I am excited by it. I create these pieces because i love to do it and get immense satisfaction from finding parts, imagining outcomes, working out how they can fit together and sitting back to enjoy the results.

Entry into the exhibition is free and everyone is welcome.
