Russell Clark Mural Exhibition - Golden Gate

The Russell Clark Mural Panels are on display in Cromwell for 3 weeks at the Golden Gate
Commissioned by the City Hotel, Dunedin in the 1960s, Russell Clark painted a series of mural panels depicting the 1860s gold rush. Clark's typical humour is present throughout the images of Dunedin, Gabriel's Gully, Chinese miners, harsh climates, gold robberies and much more. Russell Clark was known for his work as an official war artist, in the NZ School Journals & the Listener, as a painter, sculptor and illustrator.
The gold rush panels are an historic treasure too fragile at present to be exhibited. On display until - 21 September 2012
