Queenstown Contemporary - Alan Waters - A Retrospective Exhibition.
Location: Queenstown Contemporary, Five Mile, Queenstown.
Region: Queenstown
Dates: Sun, 20 December 2020 - Sun, 10 January 2021 @ 10am - 4pm Daily.
TANTRA ART in conjunction with Queenstown Contemporary. Alan Waters - A Retrospective Exhibition. Featuring 60 artworks spanning Alan's career.
Due to the onset of Parkinsons disease there will be no other works produced by Alan, making this a very unique and special opportunity to support Alan, and purchase one of his stunning works to add to your collection.
Alan's respected position in the art world derives from the startling ideas conceived from the 'disbelieving element of the unexpected' - and these he has in abundance - as you will see. Certainly not one to follow trends, his works have surprised many who have perhaps only been used to the older and traditional uses of watercolour.
Alan knew that from childhood he was destined to become an artist and has been a full-time artist for over 35 years now. Along the way he lived overseas and completed many studies in Fine Arts and in 2020 was enticed back to New Zealand by a leading Auckland Gallery. He has won numerous awards and significant competitions in Australia and New Zealand, as well as being the subject of countless magazine and newspaper articles. Alan has appeared on ABC TV and radio and has been sought after as a tutor and a judge. His works are held in private collections world-wide. Within New Zealand they sit comfortably alongside some of New Zealands' most famous and respected artists.
