NZ String Quartet - Beethoven, Maestro.
Location: The Cloudy Bay Shed, 45 Northburn Station Road, Cromwell.
Region: Cromwell
Dates: Wed, 14 April 2021 @ 7pm - 9.30pm
The New Zealand String Quartet celebrate a massive composer with a massive tour, bringing Beethoven back on his 250th anniversary. This is your chance to rejoice in these charismatic and distinctive works, played heart and soul by the NZSQ. Join the Quartet for an exquisite evening of fine wine and music at Cloudy Bay vineyards.
Written throughout his life, Ludwig van Beethoven’s string quartets remain, like his symphonies, some of the most remarkable classical music ever composed. Don’t miss this extraordinary music on tour.
“That dubious cliché about music being the universal language almost comes true with Beethoven. No composer has ever lived who speaks so directly to so many people.” Leonard Bernstein
Reset your expectations at each of these exceptional and individual quartets. Prepare yourself to trace Beethoven’s evolution from brilliant classicist to daring modernist. Acclaimed world-wide for their performances of Beethoven’s music, the NZSQ present an unforgettable programme. In Beethoven: Maestro the playful meets the profound in music that glows in the sun and resounds from clifftops.
