Karla Norton's Violin Recital - Cromwell
Location: Cromwell Memorial Hall
Region: Cromwell
Dates: Sun, 5 June 2016 @ 2.30pm
Already a well qualified and performed violinist, Masters of Music aspirant, Karla Norton comes to Cromwell this Sunday to present the very programme she hopes will gain her a Masters of Music degree in Performance Violin from Otago University.
Karla gained a Post Graduate Diploma in Performance Chamber Music from Victoria University 's NZ School of Music in 2011 having earlier achieved a Bachelor of Music from this pre-eminent tertiary - level music provider. While in Wellington Karla became concertmaster of the Wellington Youth Orchestra and for several seasons participated in the NZ Youth Orchestra.
Karla's progress toward a Masters degree paused last year when she was awarded a fellowship to be part of the internationally recognised, London based, Southbank Sinfonia. This chamber orchestra of 32 graduate musicians from around the world provides a never to be missed chance to take part in an intensive and wide ranging programme of performance and professional development.
Karla Norton, accompanied on piano by John Van Buskirk, will be performing (1¼hr including interval) at the Cromwell Memorial Hall on Sunday 5 June at 2.30pm. Tickets: Adults $10, Child/Student $5 available at the door.
