At Cromwell Museum in the Mall Jennifer Hay and her team have started a series of displays or exhibitions of more that just the art of the artist. Previously Megan Huffadine has mixed her artefacts and sketchbooks with Museum objects, Annemarie Hope-Cross processed old images and made new photos. Currently Rachel Hirabayashi has installed some of her objects and paintings showing her intellectual landscape as well as her painted ones. Rachel’s focus is the underwater world of old Cromwell. Under the lake surface objects drift in a dreamy current. The chair waits for the artist to contemplate the next stroke, the next story. Beyond, Rachel has set up new work, which can be purchased. This installation will be up for summer - go and revisit an old friend in the Museum and see some art based history.
It is a fascinating series.
