Pottery Course for Beginners - Hand and Wheel Work.
Where: Alexandra Community House - pottery rooms, 14 - 20 Centennial Avenue, Alexandra.
When: Mondays 7-9pm. April 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th and May 7th.
Tutor: Kathi McLean.
Cost: $165 includes a 10kg bag of clay and bisque and firing costs.
Course Content:
Create your own pinch and coil pots.
Throwing and centering clay.
Forming a cylinder.
Making a coffee mug with handle.
Making a jug with handle.
Forming bowl shapes.
Making a plate.
Pots will be bisque fired after the fourth session and then in fifth night pots will be glazed and fired.
On completion of these sessions, you will hopefully have gained the basics of hand and wheel work and have had an enjoyable and fun time.
