Arts on the Rail Trail 2018
Location: Venues from Clyde to Middlemarch all along the Otago Central Rail Trail
Region: Central Otago
Dates: Sat, 10 February 2018 - Mon, 30 April 2018 @ Daily.
Arts on the Rail Trail 2018 offers cyclists, visitors, locals and art enthusiasts the opportunity to view works by Central Otago artists in venues along the Otago Central Rail Trail.
Exhibitions and events run for 12 weeks during February, March and April in venues such as cafes, hotels, cycle shops and galleries from Clyde through to Middlemarch. Works by artists will be available to purchase.
This event presents the opportunity for talented Central Otago artists to raise their profiles and showcase their work to an extensive audience. It encourages rail trailers to further explore our region, discover venues they may not have otherwise visited, and enrich their experience on the great Otago Central Rail Trail.
In 2017 a number of Youth Mural Projects were facilitated by representatives from the Arts Community in Alexandra and the Maniototo. The location of these public art pieces will be noted on the Arts on the Rail Trail 2018 brochure so locals and visitors are able to take a look.
Arts on the Rail Trail is managed by the Central Otago District Arts Trust in association with the Otago Central Rail Trail Trust. It is kindly sponsored by the Vincent and Maniototo Community Boards.
