I discovered the wonders of clay thirty years ago and since then have enjoyed every aspect of the process. My learning has come from attending workshops, from many and varied teachers, as one would say we learn from ‘being on the shoulders of others”. I enjoy the thrill of the potters wheel, making various shapes and then reshaping them so that they have their own life and energy. I also dabble with sculpture using the female form as my inspiration.

The glazing process has always offered a challenge and I have tried many firing techniques including a very large diesel kiln. Presently I remain excited by the raku experience with the unpredictability of what might happen, I balance this with conventional domestic ware, however always created with a difference. My workshop and kilns are at home, Newcastle Street, Clyde.
