Watercolour Weekend Workshop with Pauline Hailwood
Location: CLOAKROOM GALLERY
Region: Queenstown
A weekend workshop designed to introduce students to breaking the rules of traditional watercolour.
We will use gesso, gouache, ink crayons, watercolour pencils and other tools, to produce layers of colour and texture. This is an exciting approach and the results are always surprising.
Students will receive lots of help with technique and many ideas which they may choose to use in their own work.
The demonstrations and discussion includes:
Materials
Composition and design
Working on gessoed paper
Working without brushes
Direct painting with large brushes
Looking at how to simplify a complex design
Cost
$100 for Queenstown Arts Society members and $130 for non-members.
