This is an audio/visual event with singing of songs by the Fine Thyme Chorus.
Between 2014 and 2018 we will commemorate this terrible conflict; reflect upon the service and sacrifice of those who served, particularly the young men from this district; piece together the often forgotten accounts of the home front; the effects the war had on our local district; and reminisce with songs popular during the war.
This year we take a glimpse at the period from the outbreak of war to the end of the 1914 calendar year at the Cromwell Presbyterian Church, 10 Elspeth St, on Tuesday 5 August at 7.00pm. Admission is free. For those able to, a suggested donation of $5 would be appreciated to help defray costs.
