The annual Shotover Jet Christmas Cracker returns this year with a fresh face. Drawing on some of the traditions of pantomime this year’s Christmas show producers have decided to create a magical theatrical experience for families.

Using the technical expertise of TomTom Productions the crew will present a captivating story of the Christmas that gets called off (due to lack of snow!) and it’s up to the audience, Rudolf, Mrs. Claus, reindeer, some hip-hop dancing sheep, and interesting Kiwi Birds (Male Ballet) to help us find Santa and restore Christmas to the Wakatipu.

Featuring highlights from past shows in the Wakatipu (“Annie”, “Catch Me If You Can”) and some of the best and brightest entertainment stars of our community, Lisa Moore, and Margaret O’Hanlon have created a heartwarming, magical and fun story backdrop incorporating popular songs and traditional carols.

“It’s really something for everyone” says Jan Maxwell, Arts, and Events Facilitator for the QLDC, “it’s a show for the children, with a bit of local humour and references thrown in for the adults. We’re all very excited about it”.
