  • A Christmas Song

Remarkable Vocals brings you a charming selection of Christmas songs for ensemble choir. The singers present beautiful harmonies from 16th century to the present day.

The concert title The Christmas Song comes from the song better known as "Chestnuts Roasting on the Open Fire. Sue Patterson, Choral Director says, “The jazz harmonies are delicious to sing and make for really easy listening”.

A bracket of early English madrigals and the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah hark back to early choral music showing the ensemble's mastery of classical musical style. There’s a nod to Elgar and Grieg, then moving forward in time to a little Beatles and Simon and Garfunkel. The choir is known for its eclectic choice of music spanning all musical tastes. The music’s appeal ensures a growing following of supporters with tickets often sold out, so it is recommended to purchase tickets early. There will be no door sales.

The ticket price covers half-time refreshments giving concert goers the opportunity to enjoy the ambience and beautiful paintings at the Thomas Brown Gallery in Speargrass Flat Road.

Tickets are available from Summerfields Pharmacy, Wilkinsons Pharmacy or the Lakes District Museum or email - [email protected] to purchase tickets.

General Admission: $30.00
