The NZ Mountain Film Festival - Wanaka

The 2014 NZ Mountain Film Festival takes place in the Lake Wanaka Centre, Ardmore St, Wanaka from July 4th to 8th and in Memorial Hall, 1 Memorial St, Queenstown from July 10th to 11th."
Its many activities include the world’s best adventure movies along with viewing the finalist of an adventure film competition, NZ and international guest speakers, workshops, an adventure gear trade show, an adventure film school, a film editing competition (US$500 first prize), a new photography competition (NZ$500 first prize) plus an art and photography display. Photography Competition
New for the 2014 New Zealand Mountain Film is a three day adventure photography competition with $500 in prize money. You need to be in Wanaka while it’s on, but not necessarily an adventurer, just an eye for taking good photos.
When: July 5-7, while the festival is on
Where: Wanaka
Outline: Contestants get a list of five things to photograph. They have the time that the festival is on to take the photos and submit them for judging. Submitted images are loaded onto the Festival Facebook page. Our judges will decide the winners and award the prizes.
Prize: $500 cash, plus other prizes.
Entry Fee: $10 (free for youth (under 18).
Photograph a carbon free action sport in Wanaka (skiing, snowboarding, biking, skateboarding, fishing, kayaking etc etc).
Landscape natural photo of Wanaka.
Photograph a carbon free ‘relaxing activity’ in Wanaka (coffee shop, walking, watching, contemplating etc etc).
Portrait of an adventurous Wanaka person.
A close up of a pleasant feature of downtown Wanaka (could be a building corner, grassy curb, rocks, building facade, sign etc etc).
