Twisted Tales

Remarkable Theatre welcomes and celebrates summer once again with the return of its annual promenade theatrical production for the Summerdaze festival- Twisted Tales. A collection of scenes, narratives, songs and poems, Twisted Tales takes the fabric of well known stories and myths and transforms them to present alternative endings and subtexts in the glorious setting of the Queenstown Botanical Gardens.

Challenging the paradigms of ancient and modern stories and genres, Twisted Tales encourages audience members to think outside the square- to take a fresh look at these tales and see them from a different perspective. It shares the stories of the voiceless, sings the songs of the scorned and generally takes pleasure in manipulating storylines.

Directed by Victoria Keating and featuring a wonderfully talented local cast, Twisted Tales comprises pieces from Monty Python, Tom Stoppard, Mark Twain, Roald Dahl and Tom Lehrer, as well as showcasing lesser known playwrights from across the globe and also locally, Twisted Tales is a fun performance intended for adults with an appeal for children.

The performance runs for approximately one and a half hours and begins by the Band Rotunda.
Parental Guidance is recommended for children.

Entry is by gold coin donation.
