The Cromwell, Alexandra and Wanaka Rotary and Lions clubs have pledged to raise $100,000 towards the fit-out of the Dunstan Hospital scanner rooms

There are two important things you can do — donate and participate; be there!

Dunstan Hospital CT Scanner Suite Appeal Monster Charity Auction will take place simultaneously in Wanaka, Cromwell and Alex. On the day there will be 4 auctioneers, a bouncy castle for the kids, an auction of original art works from local artists and there will be delicious food to temp you.

There is plenty of secure space for big ticket items and these may be sold with a reserve 'on behalf'. There are some amazing items already donated, so put your goods aside now for delivery or pick up. For more information contact any Rotary Club or Lions Club in the District.

Artworks on Display for Wanaka Auction
Artists from Wanaka and beyond, 29 in all, mostly members of Wanaka Arts Society, have donated 49 art-works to be sold at the Charity Auction at Wanaka on Saturday, 16th February, to support the Dunstan Hospital CT Scanner Fit-Out Appeal.  All donated art-works will be displayed for pre-viewing before the auction from noon to 4 pm at 15-19 Cliff Wilson St, Wanaka, on Thursday 14th and Friday 15th February 2013.

All funds raised from the art-works will go towards the Appeal. The importance of this cause to our community inspired many artists to create original art-works especially for the auction. Some of the artists have won awards in New Zealand and some internationally too. Artists contributing their works to the auction include painters Maurice Middleditch, Anne Davies, Jan Rasmussen, Susie Ruddenklau, June Harris, Jo Nimmo, Sue Deason-Robertson and Freda Ryder, photographers Gilbert Van Reenen, Roger Urlwin and Kay Todd, print-maker Donald Paterson, quilt-maker Jeanette Gillies and wood-carver/sculptor Murray Sheppard.
