Clarinet and Piano Concert - Melle Steringe and Sharon McLennan.
Location: Dunstan High School Hall
Region: Alexandra
Dates: Sun, 18 March 2018 @ 2.30pm
If you are hankering for a relaxed experience of beautiful chamber music mark the following date in your diary!
Former Central Otago musicians Melle Steringa (clarinet) and Sharon McLennan (piano) will be presenting a concert in Alexandra’s Dunstan High School Hall on the 18th March.
There are few more delightful musical combinations than the clarinet and piano and Melle and Sharon’s programme will showcase some of the genre’s highlights. The programme includes a beautiful introspective work of Vaughan Williams, Stanford’s Three Intermezzi and Gordon Jacob’s Concertina alongside contemporary works by Paul Reade, Ola Gjeilo and some spicy Paquito D’Rivera.
With a wealth of experience playing together and separately - Melle is a member of the Dunedin Symphony Orchestra and Sharon works regularly with Organist Kemp English and accompanies the Central Otago Regional Choir - this duo will transport you into a world full of light and shade, joy and contemplation. Alongside relaxed and informal introductions this chamber concert promises to be an enjoyable event.
