RICHARD ADAMS Richard is a self taught artist, who specialises in the abstract. After a brief flirtation with the acting profession he found himself painting theatre and film sets which was the catalyst to launch himself into becoming a professional artist. When Richard is not painting he will be playing Jazz Violin in the Nairobi Trio a group he co founded in 1989. This group travels both nationally and internationally. He likes his work to have a certain amount of spontaneity about it. This helps him in feeling that he is the guide of the brush rather than the master. He has undertaken a number of major corporate commissions both locally and overseas and his work can be found in private collections in NZ, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, UK, USA, France, Germany, Dubai and China. Resident Artist- Chambre Avec Vue, Saignon, France 2004.
