What's happening in Central Otago
American Express Opening Party & Fireworks
Location: Earnslaw Park
Region: Queenstown
Dates: Fri, 19 June 2015 @ 5.30pm
Nothing says "Winter Starts Here" like the moment that the fireworks go off over Lake Wakatipu.
Always a memorable night, the show starts with local entertainment before the talented winners of the global initiative Feeling the Street take to the stage. Feeling the Street is an online campaign from Toyota to find the world’s best street musicians. Six performers from around the globe will gather in Queenstown and perform for the first time as the Feeling the Street Global Street Band.
Then New Zealand's own darlings Margaret Urlich, Annie Crummer and Debbie Harwood from When the Cat's Away, along with The Band of Gold, take to the stage for a session of your favourite singalongs! Join them as they sing their top tunes like 'Melting Pot' and 'Free Ride'.
Wrap up warm, grab something hot and tasty from the food stalls and celebrate the start of winter with us tonight!
Held in Earnslaw Park right alongside Lake Wakatipu and parallel to Beach Street.
