The Alexandra Thyme Festival originated from a community desire to celebrate the beauty of the Central Otago landscape in November when the wild thyme blooms. In 2002 the festival evolved into a week long celebration of the arts, crafts, sustainability and wellbeing with the theme 'Cherishing Our Environment'.
The 2018 Thyme Festival offers interactive workshops, walks, talks, demonstrations, working artists, exhibitions, films and live performances.
