Lodge Dunstan Jigsaws
Over Queen’s Birthday weekend Lodge Dunstan will be open to allow the public to view 80,000 pieces of jigsaw.
Over the last 25 years, Rory Butler, who is currently Master of Lodge Dunstan, has been doing 4000 piece jigsaws produced by Heye, a German company. Twenty of these jigsaws have been laid out on the floor of the lodge and they form a very colourful display which measures 5.2m by 2.8m.
The purpose of the display is to raise funds for the current project of the Otago Lakes District Grand Master, Pat Cooney. The district project for his term in office is to raise money for St John First Response Kits. These are the kits used by frontline teams in emergency situations. The kits contain an oxygen mask, defibrillator pads, a bone drill, bandages and splints and other consumable items, all of which can only be used once and need to be regularly replaced. A single kit costs approximately $3000.
Admission will be by a gold coin.
