ACAS has booked the very highly regarded New Zealand String Quartet for an evening concert at The Lodge, in Arrowtown’s Lifestyle Village.

NZSQ players are selected from NZ music’s crème de la crème. In just the last four years they’ve made acclaimed tours of Europe, America, and Australia. You can hear many of their best recordings from labels on Spotify.

The Arrowtown concert will be a brilliant night, which showcases the Quartet’s signature style, diving deep into the rich repertoire of the classical canon, with works by Shostakovich and Greig, while also celebrating the home-grown talent of New Zealand composer Salina Fisher.  

The performers are Gillian Ansell, Peter Clark, Arna Morton (violins) and Callum Hall, cellist. Member’s familiar with The Lodge will know it’s a beautiful concert facility, with a pleasant bar that will be open beforehand and during the interval.

The programme selected by NZSQ is Shostakovich, String Quartet No 3 in F major Op 73; Greig, String Quartet in G minor, Op 27; Salina Fisher;  pῦtorino – echoes on improvisations by Rob Thorne.
