Arts on Tour New Zealand
Leading comedians Nick Rado and Raybon Kan have separate slots in the first half of the show, then come together in the second to solve problems suggested by the audience.
And if the audience doesn’t come up with enough burning issues of the day, they’ll offer their own! They guarantee the world won’t end during the show.
Nick Rado:
Award-winning presenter, producer, writer and MC as well as comedian Nick Rado has performed stand-up comedy to critical acclaim in the UK, US, China, Australia and NZ, as well as performing in the Edinburgh, Leicester, Brighton, Bath, Hong Kong and NZ comedy festivals. He’s looking forward to jousting with Raybon on this upcoming tour.
Raybon Kan:
Born in Masterton and moving at an early age to Wellington after his family moved to NZ, Raybon Kan showed early promise as a performer, becoming School Council President while at high school and captaining Victoria University to second place in the World Universities Debating championships, only pipped at the post by Oxford University.
Completing an LLB honours degree, he also won the Dominion Journalist Scholarship and the Energy Law Research scholarship while at Victoria.
Named Best Comedian by Metro and North and South magazines on numerous occasions, Raybon has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe and a host of other international comedy festivals, appeared on TV’s Pulp Comedy, Nightline and other programmes, starred in a number of films, and written several books, including ‘Five Days in Las Vegas’ and ‘America on Five Bullets a Day.’
After living overseas for a few years, he has returned to New Zealand, continuing to provide commentary on social issues in print media, and is a guest speaker for events.
