  • Nightscapes Photographic Exhibition.

World Environment Day is the United Nations’ day for encouraging worldwide awareness and action to protect our environment.  This is celebrated each year on June 5th.  The global theme for 2019 is Air Pollution.  There is growing environmental concern on levels of air pollution around the world.  The U.N. are calling for a heightened awareness in every country. Central South Island is renowned for some of the clearest night skies in the world but this is being challenged by increasing air pollution particularly in the winter months. This Nightscape Photography Exhibition provides the opportunity for amateur and professional photographers to explore this year’s world environment theme. Photographers have been invited to submit their original works based around the nightscapes of the central South Island of NZ. Works include images which represent both dusk and dawn.

This is an exhibition supported by MAD4CO, CODAT & Central Stories.

A floor talk will be held on June 4th at 5pm. Everyone is warmly invited to attend.
