  • Gallery 33 - ‘Flora, Fauna, and the Art of Wellbeing’ by Michel Tuffery.

Gallery Thirty Three is pleased to present ‘Flora, Fauna, and the Art of Wellbeing’ by Michel Tuffery. Michel Tuffery is a New Zealand-based artist of Samoan, Rarotongan and Ma’ohi Tahitian heritage. Within his art practice he plays the role of working “in between” people and places, and focusing a fresh lens on environmental, community, cultural and art historical divides. The exhibition will survey three bodies of work from Tuffery; including the ‘Handle with Care’ serries, the ‘Mana Moana’ serries and his ‘Poly Font’ series.

Michel Tuffery is a passionate educator who openly shares his kauapapa and knowledge to empower our youth through residencies and workshops for school-aged children in New Zealand and abroad. While in Wanaka, Tuffery will be facilitating a student project as part of the Festival of Colour that will change the face of Helwick Street.

The artist will be in Gallery Thirty Three printmaking and signing works across three dates, no registration or RSVP required.

Friday 16th 11:30-3:30, Saturday 17th 11am-1pm, Sunday 18th 11:30-3:30.

‘Flora, Fauna, and the Art of Wellbeing’ opens Friday 9th April 2021.
