Annemarie and Eric launch their book ‘Still Intrusion’

STILL INTRUSION explores the impact of a cancer diagnosis on the lives of a couple, and their photographic response to the diagnosis, various treatments and ongoing worry.

Annemarie Hope-Cross is an internationally exhibiting historic processes photographic artist. Her exacting labour to mix chemicals and produce images in the manner of one of the founders of photography, William Henry Fox Talbot, has led her to explore specific imagery as she deals with a cancer diagnosis. Haunting images associated with old bottles and referencing the Heidelberg Apotheke, as well as medicinal herbs, form the body of her work.

Eric Schusser is an award-winning photographic artist whose focus includes black and white landscape photography, abstract photography and the telling of stories through the combination of photography and text. In this series, wet road surfaces have received a historic processes treatment and platinum tone in a reference to Annemarie’s processes and chemistry.  Roads become metaphors for key changes and the effects of the diagnosis and treatment on Eric as the primary carer.

Annemarie and Eric live in Alexandra, Central Otago with their delightful Cocker Spaniel Sia.

A donation of $5 from each book purchased will go to ‘Sweet Louise’ a charity which supports people with metastatic breast cancer. Annemarie is also working toward forming a branch of ‘Sweet Louise’ in Central Otago.
