Marc Blake Studio & Gallery is the working studio of artist Marc Blake. The space also features works for sale by Marc and selected guest artists.
Marc Blake (b. 1974, Auckland) is a New Zealand artist, curator, and gallerist whose practice spans photography, painting, and installation. His work examines perception, technology, and memory through layered processes that blur documentation and abstraction.
Blake has lived and worked in Japan, Australia, South Korea, and after 10 years in Queenstown, is now based in Bannockburn, Central Otago, Aotearoa New Zealand. He has exhibited widely, including at the Kyoto Cultural Museum, Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki, and The Dowse Art Museum and was the Supreme Winner of the 2023 Craigs Aspiring Art Award.
Recent solo projects include On Canvas (Aotearoa Art Fair, 2023), Like Pleasures of the World (Alexandra Museum, 2023), and Alta (Te Atamira, 2025). Blake is currently co-director of Superpartner, a contemporary art gallery in Arrowtown. He has been instrumental in creating opportunities for visual arts and artists in our region over the past 6 years.
