Julie Greig lives near Patearoa, painting from her studio in the vast and stunning Maniatoto, Central Otago, South Island, New Zealand.
She has recently opened a unique/rustic “hallway” gallery within their 1887 mud-brick homestead, set among established gardens and mature trees.
Born in the King Country, North Island, Julie has been drawing and painting since childhood. Early inspiration came from the dark horses running wild through the snow and trees of Karioi Forest, with the dramatic, snow-covered Mt Ruapehu rising behind them. She is best known for her expressive use of detail, texture, and atmosphere.
