Rollicking and rolling out of the woolliest corners of Auckland’s wild west come The Nukes. Fast gaining a growing reputation for reckless and riveting live performances where a fine blend of folk, bluegrass, reggae and post punk is caressed, coaxed and beaten out of three innocent wee ukuleles – Dave “Fingers of fire” Parker, David “Snapper” Thiele and Benjamin “Country boy” Collier, make up this captivating band of three.
Originally formed at the 2008 Titirangi Festival of Music in West Auckland, the band have produced two studio albums to date and are currently working on their third, due out March 2017.
All songs are unique to The Nukes with the trio writing and performing all their own tunes.
The Nukes have toured extensively throughout New Zealand and parts of Australia sharing their quirky brand of ukulele brilliance, three part vocal harmonies, blistering riffs, riotous rhythms and questionable dance moves.
