The 50-strong ‘Young Voices of Melbourne ‘ choir will be performing in Queenstown on its 25th Anniversary celebration tour. The 10 day trip also includes concerts in Auckland, Rotorua, Wellington and Christchurch.

This is one of Australia’s finest youth choirs. They have performed at the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games, at the World Swimming Championships, and have won prizes in International Choir Festivals. You will also hear them in the theme music for the popular TV shows We Can Be Heroes and Summer Heights High. They tour regularly, having previously sung in Europe, North America, South Africa, Asia and Samoa.

Members of the choir are aged between 11 and 17 years, and have come through the extensive training programme run by Mark O’Leary, the choir director.

The concert is on Monday 6 July at 7.30pm at St Andrews Church Stanley Street.  Entry is by donation of $10 at the door and school children are free.  Email [email protected].  Further information about Young Voices of Melbourne is available at www.yvm.com.au and about Malcolm Dalglish at www.oooliticmusic.com
