Kate de Goldi is one of New Zealand’s best-known commentators on children’s literature, and a regular reviewer on National Radio. She writes fiction for all ages, especially for children and young adults. Her illustrated presentation on writing for children, will focus on the Annual she co-edits for Gecko Press. Through its mixture of dynamic, irreverent and timeless material, beautifully packaged for 9-12 year olds, it aims to revitalise their reading experience and develop their lifetime love of reading. There will be time for questions and a general exploration of aspects of writing for children - and will appeal to writers, children, parents and grandparents. Tim Hawins is a well-known professional photographer living in Bannockburn and happy to share his love of the local landscape, and how best to capture it on camera.
